you should have reminded her of the TRUE meaning of Christmas and that its not about getting or giving presents. Its about the birth of Christ and a time to spend it with people who you love. I only spent $50 on each set of parents,$25 for our sisters and $50 for our nephew other then that noone got anything from me. I actually baked for the ladies at work.

dont feel like a grinch people are so greedy sometimes. She should understand that its only temporary until the wedding is over and you arent trying to save.

It's over the top yes, but don't let it get to you. At least they're all doing the work for you. I would kill to have my FMIL write down a list of things she likes. Last year I bought FILs a really nice wine fridge and they exchanged it for a paper shredder.

I'm a grinch this year too - mostly b/c of money and we just moved on Nov 15th so it was expensive.

I don't even have a tree!
