I think we are doomed...<VENTING, JUST VENTING>

First my hall files for Chapter 11 and then I get a notice in the mail that the Deacon I have been dealing with is ill and will not be able to perfom my ceremony. I told Brian that these must be signs, and he thinks I am crazy.

Think of it this way, it is all happening now, so you have time to fix it and everything will be perfect on your weding day.

Don't think that at all. I had 1 1/2 years of everything going pretty well and then 2 weeks before the wedding;
-my limo company called and said the car I ordered a year (yes, a year) before never arrived and I have to pick something else

-my Priest (who I really wanted to marry us, and felt that he really understood my religious feelings) was transfered to a new church. His start date- the day BEFORE my wedding

-3 guests (with dates) cancelled less than 3 days before the wedding- after we paid for them (and of course, none of them had ever sent even a card to us after the wedding)

And there were a few other things too.
Guess what, I changed limo companies so that solved that problem. There was nothing I could do about the Priest so I had the new parish priest perform our Mass and I never spoke to those guests again. Our day was beautiful and worth every minute of the stress. And we are happy.

You guys will be fine. At least you are finding this out now and not a week or two before. You still have time, and who knows maybe your new arrangements will be even better!!! Dont worry!!

Sorry about the Deacon... everyone has told me the same thing about JA's.. at least you found out now so you can actually do something about it. Same goes for the Deacon. I can completely understand how you feel though... listen, if it makes you feel any better - we STILL have not found a replacement hall. Almost, every place that we have looked at we don't like.. so we're still on the hunt. Don't worry about the Deacon.. look at how quickly you found Chateau Briand... you guys will be okay! Try not to be worried.. and smile

I know how you feel, through out my last year of planning I had to change my hall, my hotel, my photographer, 3 weeks ago my 2 MOHs dropped out of my wedding (looonnnnggg story, not worth telling), & my MOH's father was my officiant, so I lost that as well(& today I'm less than 3 weeks away, so I had to find someone else to stand up for me, a new dress for that person, & a new officiant 6 weeks before the wedding). So I have also spent a lot of time worring that this were all terrible signs, FH thinks I'm crazy as well! But truthfully wedding plan is not easy & there are MANY bumps along the way, but knowing that in 20 days(OMG), I'm going to marry my soul mate makes it all worth wild!

You girls always make me feel better! I just felt really badly when I recieved the letter about the priest yesterday. He was so nice and when I last saw him, I noticed that he had lost alot of weight.
They reassigned me a new deacon, but I am going to call and ask if I can have the Pastor (Father Bill) do the ceremony. Right before I got engaged, our old Pastor (Father Larry) was shot to death during mass.
