I think we should leave politics and wedding planning separate!

No offense to anyone, but there's a NWR board to post your political views.... everyone has different opinions (which they are entitled to) and I think that there are many of us who are on here to plan a wedding, not talk about our political beliefs. Just my opinion.

not to start anything - but why not just ignore those posts? This is a huge deal for our country and for all of our lives as Americans - this is wedding related as far as I am concerned....it effects my finances, my current insurance situation, my mood, etc...and all of these things effect my wedding!!

Bunnymonkey you have a point..It may not be directly wedding related but its no different than when someone posts NWR and people still respond..its just something that happens on the board and will probably continue. Plus this is something major that took place today that will affect many facets of our lives, including those planning a wedding..even the vendors and halls on this board can be affected by policy changes..call it six degrees of separation.

I understand the point that the presidential election affects every aspect of our lives... my point is that it should be done on the NWR board. Just as I also think that people shouldnt post 'NWR' on this board for any topics, not just this one.

People post what is important to them. To some, the election of our President is more important and affects them in every aspect of life (including their wedding planning) more than if you decide to have chocolates or cupcakes as a wedding favor, or if your fg should wear white or ivory. The boards are for everyone, and their opinions -- let's keep it that way.

Since I posted the bit, just want to say in my defense that I was sharing my enthusiasm for having the election over.

I feel everyone should be free to post whatever they like. Since we are getting to know each other, we should be OK with opinions and tidbits being aired that are NWR, IMO. Perhaps we shouldn't delve any deeper than what colors we like, what vendors to use, and how our hair looks, etc, but I kinda like hearing ALL the opinions, news, personal stories, wedding posts, QOTDs and not feeling limited in what is posted and how I respond. It certainly isn't disrespectful to have an opinion, so perhaps it should not be taken that way.
