I went to a showcase at my RH on Monday and Island Harvest had a booth there. Never heard of them before this - but apparently they are an organization that fundraises for local hunger. They work a lot of different ways but one thing in particular caught my attention as
You can have them coordinate with your RH to have them pick up all of the untouched food from the event to donate to the hungry. It doesn't cost a penny for you or your RH. FH and I are definitely going to do this and make note of it on our menus
YES!!!! FH and I are doing this also !!! ITs a wonderful thing to do and then you know your leftover food is not going to waste!

i've heard that apparently some RH's won't work with them because it's 'more work' for them and harder than just throwing the food in the garbage - how gross is that???

thats terrible! We are paying for the food so we should have say in what is done with it! I will beat my RH if they said no

not only gross but heartless! who can just throw away food when you know you can help those who unfortunately don't have nothing to eat!

This is such a great idea I am the SADD club advisor at my school and we had a walk a thon in october that benefited island harvest we raised $3000 and collected four barrels of food! I am definately going to do this
