I too failed my one hour test..and how many of your failed the one hour..?

I went last night and got the results this morning.. now i have to take the 3 hour on wednesday. What can i expect? any feedback will be help

I failed the one hour and the three hour. Actually, I failed the first 2 parts of the 3 hour, but all you need is 2 and they diagnose you as GD.

The three hour is basically the same thing as the one hour, you just get more blood taken.

Tammy, the one hour is the glucose test. It's usually given around 24-28 weeks.

In the 3 hour they take your blood when you get there, make you drink the drink and then take you blood every hour for the next 3 hours

I took the 1 hour test at 24 weeks and passed, but because of a family history of GD my OB wanted to retest at 27 weeks. Unfortunately, I failed the 1 hour test at 27 weeks. I was scheduled to go the next day to hospital for the 3 hour test :(. You have to fast overnight. As soon as you arrive they will draw your blood to get your baseline. Then they make you drink a drink similar to the one hour drink. They'll draw your blood aprox 5 different times 30, 60, 90, 2hr and 3 hours. (I think). I felt a little dizzy after the test, so bring someone with you to drive. Also, it's a long and boring 3 hours so bring something to your mind occupied!

Good luck and remember that 85% of the women who fail the 1 hour test pass the 3 hour.

Thanks .. i actually feel alittle better.. The only problem is that No one can came with me to the three hour test.. so hopefully i won't feel so dizzt if not i will just have to take a cab home and get the car later.....I hope that i do not get too dizzy

I went to the 3 hr. by myself too. I made sure I had a snack before drove home from the lab. Bring something with you since you will have fasted from the night before.

I think I felt dizzy, because I was starving. So as Victoria suggested bring a snack in your bag and should be ok.
