Ever wake up and just decide you don't want to got to work today? well thats waht I did today. I feel a little guily but I only took 1 day off so far this year and I really wanted to sleep late and play on LIweddings all day.
Plus I just talked to my partner and she said the kids are out of control today, sometimes teaching special ed I need a day or I will get burnt out and this is only my 6th year teaching, what am I gonna do when I am 50

Love those kinds of days!!
My mom teaches special ed and everyday she is drained from them. Its hard work.

Everyone needs to do that, it's a mental health day I see one in my future, the day I have to go in for my sample CP. I'm not wasting my precious vacation days on that!

I love mental health days, good for you!! I used mine all up but the new ones roll around after the new year, too bad they will be all taken up for the wedding I am sure!

Don't feel bad it's called a mental health day!!! Everyone needs one once in a while! You have only taken one day off all year??? You DEF needed this day then! And the year is almost over!!!!

i feel that way too! im a special ed teacher and sometimes im just like ugh i need a break!!! lol

i know how you feel. Actually it isn't my 'special friends' that are wired right now. Its the ones that are usually calm that are bouncing off the walls. I finally convinced two of the special ed. parents that they needed to up medicine dosages.....viola its been so nice

i did the same thing today and i teach special ed too. i woke up, took a shower, and was like, 'ah, no.' =0)

I often need a mental health day, but planning for the substitute is usually more work than if I just go in and teach! But I definitely need one. Sigh.....2 more days to vacation!!!
