I've asked about this before but. . .
I have had a lot of trouble finding a stylist to come over (Holiday Inn in Carle Place) the morning of the wedding to style my hair in an updo and anywhere between 5-8 girls in my BP.We are all women of color, ranging from Latina, Indian, and African American, so we all have different textures of hair.
I need someone who can handle all textures. Note: we will have all gotten our hair washed and set the night before, so what we need is strictly styling (maybe some blow drying and curling)
Trouble is, I can't find anyone who fits this description willing to come to us at 6am on Saturday, May 31st.
Anyone know someone?
I'd appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Liz

I am doing everything with Maximus Spa & Salon at the Source Mall right by the Holiday Inn. Speak with Antonetta the Bridal Coordinator 516-222-8880 and she can set you up with stylist and make up. They will come to you and do everything you need on that day.I have had a great experience with Maximus up to now.

Just my opinion, but it sounds like you may need more than one person. Just from what I have gathered from past brides on the board, you may run really late trying to have one stylist work on so many girls.

Thanks Latina511, for the info. I will call Antonetta today !!!!!!
Lauren S, you are probably right,
maybe this place Maximus will be able to send at least 2 hairstylists. I'm sure they are probably used to doing large BPs.

I also used Maximus at the Source Mall. I had 5 people getting their hair done, and they sent 2 stylists. They will come as early as you need them to.

For those of you who used Maximus. . .I spoke to Antonetta. She said they could definitely handle all the different textures of hair, which is great!!! She had great options, she said they could open as early as 4 am, or they could come to the hotel as early as I need them.
Only thing is they don't book until 2 months before the wedding date.
Is this standard for those of you who have used them?
And are they worth the wait?

I am having my trial next week for my wedding that is on 9/15/02. If you like I can definetly show you pictures afterwards so you can see.I did my hair for my friends wedding about a month ago and they did a great job. That is how I decided to go with Maximus. Sorry I don't have pictures of that yet.

I used them, and actually only booked about 3 weeks before my wedding. I went to the salon for a trial and 2 stylists came to my house the day of the wedding. It turned out fine.

Lizlen2003: Did you try posting on the knot.com? I understand your problem? My bridal party also ranges from African American, Asian, and Latina. It's difficult!!! I am getting married in Long Island where I grew up and where my parents still live. I now live in Brooklyn so I don't really know where to go on the island. All my bridesmaids live in Brooklyn or NYC so they don't know either and I am having my ceremony at 11am. When are you getting married? I am actually trying to find places now, but I'm not getting maried until Sept 2003. I'll let you know if I find anything but I think my bridal party will probably be scattered at different salons the morning of my wedding, not ideal but ..... Anyway, good luck and I will keep you posted.Septbride
