I've recently asked this but I didn't get much feedback...

so if no one minds, I'll ask again. But thank you for those of you that did respond. I'm definitely going to have an updo. Now, what kind of headpiece do you use for that? A Bun wrap, tiara, etc.? I need to know, so I can start looking for one. Thanks again!

it depends on the updo and your preference

you could use a bunwrap or tiara or comb, etc. I'm going with a comb for just some subtle sparkle. The bunwraps and tiara were too much for my dress. If you want something with height, go with the tiara. Your best option is to put your hair up and go try things on - its the only way to get a feel for what looks right. If you can do it with your dress on (as I did) its so much better. I changed plans once I had them on with the dress.

You could also try...

A simple headpiece of silk/satin roses (or some other flower) that would attach at the top or back of your hairdo (depending on how it's styled). With something like this, you could easily remove your veil, if you wish, at the reception, but still have something beautiful adorning your 'up-do'. Good luck!

it all depends on how you want your hair....

to look. What kind of look are you going for? With a french twist, you might want to go with a comb or a tiara. With the hair pulled on top of the head and curled maybe a tiara again. If you want some sort of bun, then the bun wrap is OK. It is dependant on how you want to wear your hair!! The style can be planned around the headpiece or vice versa!!

I agree with both posts. I would try on lots of different headpieces to see what you like, then narrow your choses down but what looks best with an updo.

Well...

All I know of for now is that I want it all pulled up and back, but instead of a bun, it will be all curls. I have straight hair, but they would curl it. I did something similiar for my prom years ago. I had it all pulled up and back with a french twist, a pile of curls and with 1 curl hanging down on each side of my side/face. I'd like something similiar. I also want my veil to be in the back. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Also, could you look at me dress and tell me what you think would look nice? It's on my profile. Thanks so much!

Also...

It's hard to put my hair up like a salon would do. My hair is long and very thin. The only way I put up my hair is in a ponytail. I can't afford to get it done. So I don't think I'd be able to try it on with my hair in an updo. Also, my dress is in NY, I'm here in NC, so I can't try them on with my dress. :(

it doesn't have to be your actual dress dress...

that you'll be wearing on THE day - do they carry your style in any bridal salon in NC? Also, you don't have to make your hair fancy - I practiced with a ponytail. The women at the bridal salon was most helpful in arranging my hair. With the style you descibe anything could work. You just have to decide what you like.

My vote as someone who did hair for many years..

Is to go with a tiara with the veil in the back! The dress is the perfect style for this! The nice thing about this look is you can remove the veil if you wanted!
