In FH's family, a new child is named after someone who passed away.

BUT its not the full name, you just have to use the first initial.

so if the name of the deceased is Larry
the kids name has to be something like Lee

FH must be jewish then? That's what we're doing. Aidan is after my grandma (her name was Ada) and I picked Ashley b/c my name was Ashley for a day and mom was on intense drugs b/c she had twins and my crazy lesbian grandma somehow got her to change it to jessica while my mom was in her drugged state, at least that's how the story was told to me. So anyway, Ashley is to get back at lesbian grandmother.

yes it is, I didn't have a catholic friend till jh and she was saying she's named after her aunt that was still alive and I didn't understand AND they had the same exact name which confused me even further. I was in a jewish bubble.

Yup, according to FH or using the 1st inital in choosing your childs name... somthing to that effect

Me neither, I feel weird! His biological mom I do though, she gets mad if I call her anything else.
