but not because i have baby-fever. i have one kid from my first marriage, dh doesn't have any of his own. i know i'm going to have a child with him. i just want to get it over with before i get any older.
how un-romantic is that?!
i feel like such a horrible person for looking at this in such a clinical way.

I told my DH that he had 2 choices, start trying now/soon or not have any because I'm not starting to have kids IN my 30s [for family history reasons...blood pressure risks]. He didn't like my logic very much...but my health is far more important than whether or not he gets to reproduce.
[coincidentally, I'm now 20 weeks pregnant ]

I kinda know how you feel. It's actually the opposite situation tho. DH has a daughter from his 1st marriage and I have none. I'm 26, DH is 42, and his daughter will be 10 in March. So I sort of want to get started already so there isn't too much more of an age difference between the kids. Plus there's a little 'regular' baby fever going on too!!

We are working on it right now and we are excited about it. We probably would have waited a lil longer if we werent getting up there. We are both 36. Frankly, I am not interested in having children in my 40's. I have had people tell me that 'even stars have kids at 45'. Good for them. I am not a star. I dont have the money of a star. I dont have the health care and insurance of a star and I dont have a personal trainer to get my body back into shape in two weeks like a star.
When you work in the field I work in, you also have too much knowledge and that can often be a huge deterrent to having children later in life. It is simply something I am not interested in doing. SOOOOO DH and I decided that NOW is the time. I know a lot of people will disagree with my feelings and I risk being chastised for it but I think I am entitled to live my reproductive life as I see fit.
Thus concludes my rant.
I hope everyone who wishes to have a child is blessed when the time is right for them.
