Did you get my FM? Chewie is the friendliest dod ever. He's a mush. He'll sit right on your lap for him to pet you. He's great w/ kids and babies too now that he isn't teething anymore. I will see if I can find some stuff for you cause we read alot about pugs before buying one.

I found this. Its my pug exactly....

A Pug is 'a lot of dog in a small space.' They are perky, rambunctious and loyal, affectionate and loving, with a happy disposition. They are playful and charming. Clever and mischievous - with a heart-winning personality. They can be a bit willful. Highly intelligent, it bores easily with repetitive training practices. Pugs are sensitive to the tone of your voice, so harsh punishment is unnecessary. The dog is neither excitable nor dull. They are good watchdogs, very devoted and are not yappers. Pugs get along well with other dogs and pets, and they behave impeccably with both children and visitors. Do not forget though, that they require lots of attention and become jealous if their owner ignores them.

Marisa, he does shed. It's not too bad though. Maybe if you're allergic it might be.

I second that!

Fascinus thinks he is a big dog (and I guess he is, for a Pug). He is a good protector and a great watchdog. i would definately watch when the pups are teething, though, as far as being around small children. Fascinus used to like to teeth on DH fingers.

They do become very jealous, and are very vocal about it. it also took Fascinus a while to get used to sleeping through the night & also he still barks quite a bit more than we would like him to.

I think they are great. Just be sure to research the breeder before you commit.

Good luck!

ETA: Also, I just wanted to let you know that in our case, we are considering a second dog to keep our Pug company during the day. We are out of the house from 7am until 7pm, and he has been acting rather spiteful about it. When I took him to the vet, the vet told me thqat it is not uncommon for Pugs to get separation anxiety from their owners, especially if they were home F/T as I was when he was a pup. Not that it is standard, just something else to consider.

Pugs are the best!!!! That is all I can say!!! They shed like crazy 365 days a year so if u can deal with that then ok!! They are the best!!

Re: I want a PUG

I can't wait to get one. My dad was pugsitting for a friend and she (Nola) was the sweetest most cuddley dog I've ever met. She would curl up on our laps and fall asleep. As soon as we walked in, as strangers to her, she was jumping up on us and trying to lick us. She slept with my dad and stepmom and woke them up with doggie kisses. She was soooooo cute i wanted to steal her. She turned DH into a pug lover too.

She did shed a lot and I may be allergic, but I'll deal with that when the time comes. I usually build an immunity to dogs that I see a lot.
and I've seen them cheaper from breeders than pet stores (puppy mills). One pet store was charging $1800.
