Re: I want to Book
I think it’s very important to stick to what your heart says. If you love it do everything in your power to make it work. If that means fibbing a little with the BM and telling them you have been quoted less, then so be it. If that means altering your guest list and your budget then do it. Don‘t lose out on the most important part of your wedding. Once you book your RH then everything else should fall into place. For ex. Instead of spending $2000 on a dress then budget yourself to 1000 and use that money for the RH or flowers. This may also me more shopping around and research when you book other vendors. Or maybe consider other dates as well. I say all this because that is what I had to do.
I went into JT thinking I was going to get married in late August for one particular price. Well not only am I now getting married in July but I chose my minimum guarantee AND I negotiated to the price I wanted (equivalent to early spring price) AND I am working with the BM-who is also the general manager-on changing the menu and having more of a Caribbean affair. Harass them harass them harass and let them know how important this is to you. I have never been to the Thatched Cottage but I heard it’s nice and one of my BM’s is getting married there next May.
Also is it just you and FH paying for the whole thing. If not then take advantage of everyone who can help. Even little things like invites and flowers can make a difference. FH and I are blessed with people who are helping to chip in since we are paying for the RH ourselves, so if someone says they will help JUMP ALL OVER IT!
In a nutshell express to FH the importance of the RH and that you are taking a big risk booking the RH too late in the year. My RH is not cheap but that only means that I have to stick to my budget when it comes to everything else. You can do what your heart desires and still stay in your budget. Good Luck to you and congrats!
