I want to buy a Chevy Equinox -- any feedback or sales assistance is welcome!

I looked at the Equinox today and am considering buying it. If anyone sells Chevys and can give me a better deal than we got today, I'd love to hear it.

Also...any feedback is always welcome!

Goto Robert Chevrolet in Hicksville. I bought my used Prizm there a year and a half ago and I have to say that they were very nice and they gave me a great price.

My friend fron work bought an equinox and she loves it

I just got an Equinox the end of October. I love it!!! Mine is the LT model with AWD. Let me know if you have any questions.

my husband worked with a Chevy dealer down here in GA for a bit....the Equinox is a GREAT car....mechanically sound and reliable. We would have gotten one if we didn't get a Camry

My husband is a GM dealer, although not Chevy (he's Buick, Pontiac and GMC trucks). He raves about the Equinox, he says its a great car/truck and would put me in one if it were a line he sold. He told me I had to wait until Pontiac came out with their Eqiunox (called the Torrent) Good Luck, I wish he could help, but maybe I can ask him to refer you to one of his Chevy dealer friends

My dad bought his condo from the sales manager at Dobler chevy in freeport, but I wouldnt recommend that dealer to you. Try to stay away from the chevy dealer in freeport and the other one in hempstead. I would say to go to Robert Chevrolet. I wish I knew someone that worked there. I only have a sales manager friend at South Shore honda in Valley Stream. If you decide to go Honda, his name is Stephon.

Wow, my FH is a GSM( general sales manager) at a pontiac buick cadillac and gmc trucks too. Also a GM dealer. If you want FM and I will give you his number Im sure he can help you- we both worked at a chevy dealer in east meadow( how we first met) and he knows a ton of managers and sales people to help you and steer you in the right direction so you dont get ripped off.

we just bought the trailblazer but that's because we needed enough for 8..my brother in law has the equinox and absolutely loves it

We have a 99 Blazer now but it has had alot of problems with the heating/cooling etc. We want to get another car/truck soon and my husband has a GM Credit card with points on it we wnat to use. Does the Equinox have similar problems? It looks like a real nice vehicle. Any other GM family car/smaller suv's reccomendations?

I'm not too sure, being that this is the first year for this model. I guess I should research this a bit online. If I find out, I'll let you know!

I've always had the gut feeling to never buy a model in it's first year .. whether it be a brand new model .. or a redesign of a current model.

But that's just paranoid me.

I love my Chevy Malibu (98 model) .. but I have to say .. I don't know if I will buy another Chevy .. just for the sheer fact that their warranty is absolutely pathetic .. covering only 3 years / 36,000 miles .. everyone else is upping their warranty .. some even giving limited 10 year / 100,000 miles .. that's huge .. especially for me since I do a ton of driving.

Yes, I know there is the option to extend the warranty .. but it gets costly .. especially to go out to 10 years / 100,000 miles .. and I'm not even sure if Chevy offers that .. I guess they must.

But .. regarding the Chevy Equinox .. it does give the impression of being a reliable auto .. only time will tell.

MY DH feels the same way as you do...that's one of the reasons for my post. I wanted to her from people who owned one to see how they liked/disliked the truck as well.

You make a great point and I will look into the warantee as well.

this morning on Fox there awas a whole to do about the Equinox. nothing bad at all. They kept raving about it. they also had their car guy on.

Just want to add .. I had heard very good things about the Equinox before it came out .. and after it was released .. I forget where .. but some guys who have those car magazines .. I had a couple pointed out to me .. maybe Motor Trend and Car & Driver .. not sure .. but I'm sure you can get plenty of feedback and reviews from on-line resources.

But still, the question would be .. over the long haul .. because bottom line is .. since it's still in its first year .. it really hasn't had time for any trends to develop .. like excessive brake wear and tear .. etc.

Actually the Equinox is the sister of the saturn SUV. The vue debuted in 02 or 03 and GM wanted to see what kind of response it would get. After seeing excellent response from the vue, the equinox made its debut. I think the only major difference between the cars is the engine. Saturn uses honda engines for its V6. Other than a few cosmetic changes, they are the same.
