Read the back of your contract. Mine says that if they re-book the date then you can get your deposits back.

Congratulations!!!!
Ummmm....call them right now....tell them what happened. It depends on a bunch of things...the hall itself, their rule, if they have someone else interested for the date, how long ago you booked and how much money you put down. Good Luck!!!

First of all - congratulations!!!
Second, it depends on your hall and your contract. The way you'd lose the least amount of money is by rebooking the same hall, just an earlier date. Is that a possibility?

Check your contract. The stipulations should be on there. Usually you lose your deposit and if you put down more money than that, you may be able to get it back if someone else books that date. BTW - Congratulations!!!

If you move up the date and still have it at the same hall then they will probably work something out with you.

Congratulations. They should be able to re-book since your date is over an year away. Just make sure you know the details of your contract before you call.
I think each place must have their own rules but for mine it has a lot to do with re-booking your date and a percentage based on the timing, etc. I would call and ask...
BTW Congrats on the baby!!!

I booked the hall, not even a month ago and only put down a deposit.... there is no way we can afford to have the wedding earlier....
They would have i year and eight months to rebook the hall... Do you think they will give us a hard time?

Hard to say, I know mine says you are responsible if the date is not booked. If it is a popular date/month (a Sat. in June or something), you shouldn't have a problem...
Edit: December might be harder to rebook...

They probably won't give you the money back unless they can rebook your date.

For some reason, this came up when i was at jerricho Terrace - they will refund your money is what I was told. It doesn't matter if it is re-booked or not.

I imagine if they can re book the date then it wont be a problem - and I just wanted to let you know that December 3, 2005 is my wedding date as well and I'm sure there wont be any trouble getting another bride for that day.

congrats!... i think each hall is differnt but if you plan to keep the same hall i dont think theyd mind moving the date up... especially with the current date being 1 1/2 years away..
