Something is wrong with my eyes ever since august I have had trouble with contacts my eyes get blood shot after a few hours and I am so scared of what will happy on my 'big day' my doctor said all i could do is keep trying different pairs till i find 1 cause my eyes developed a sensitivity, but that requires going 100 times and paying my $40 co pay each time! I am so sad
i say skip the contacts then...are you toatlly blind or just hate glasses?

Re: I WANT TO CRY
did he ever suggest not wearing contacts for a little while?
if you don't change your pair often enough or keep them in too long, you clog the air holes and your eyes build up more veins. my eye doc told me to stop wearing them as long and to give my eyes a break everyone once and a while. my sister had a problem with hers and used dailies now. so there is never any build up. don't cry!!! just give your eyes a break!!!

Re: I WANT TO CRY
Maybe you can try wearing glasses from now till your day to give your eyes a rest.

Debi wears contacts, and had eye issues. It turned out to be her eye makeup. Mary MOB

Re: I WANT TO CRY
Is Lasik an option?
I wear the Acuvue Oasys and they are seriously the best contacts I've ever worn (and I've been wearing contracts 15 years)

Re: I WANT TO CRY
have you tried the dailies? also are you using any sort of tinted/colored? I had contacts since I was 14 and I used to play around with colored ones and those totally irritated my eyes.

Re: I WANT TO CRY
try to use one of the new daily wear lenses with lots of moisture (I use Accuvue Moist or something like that). You throw them out every day so you stay really clean.
Also maybe lay off your eye makeup and all eye creams for a week or two. And make sure you are not putting any face cream or anything near your eyes. I used to use an eye cream and it started to give me eye irritation.
I also never go anywhere without eye drops made for contact lense wearers.

Re: I WANT TO CRY
Seemingly random... but did you change birth control pills?
Sometimes the pill will cause you to not be able to wear contacts (I don't know why - I'm just obsessed with the little insert since some of them make me want to jump off a bridge and take everybody else with me)

Re: I WANT TO CRY
My contact lens dr has me buy a 'contract' each year, which lets me come back as many times as I need and try as many lenses as necessary until I found a good pair for me. Maybe you need to change drs!
Do you try putting in eye drops?
Another thing could be the way you clean them at night. Do you rub them to get off the proteins and dirt from the day before you soak them? You can try using a soap (Miraflow, I think), too. I have lots more suggestions if you let me know what you've tried so far.

Re: I WANT TO CRY
OMG ME TOO!!!!!!!!! I just got back from the doc about that LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was the only one... anyway I just got yelled at for still wearing my contacts and Im not allowed to wear them for a month! I hate glasses, I dont see as well driving, and doing things throughout the day. I wear them at home all the time.. but not when Im out bc they are annoying. He also perscribed me an eye drop to put in my eyes 3 times a day to help my eyes produce tears. I have also been putting another set of drops in my eyes twice a day (but that wasnt working so well bc I was still wearing my contacts... so I still had spots of dry spots in my eyes when I went today... which is why I got in trouble lol). If you need names and stuff of the drops he put me on FM me.

Re: I WANT TO CRY
I always had a very hard time with contacts and could never tolerate them for more than a few hours until I tried the Bioinfinity lenses from Coopervision. I now wear my contacts 5 or 6 days a week for 12 hours or more...I still use saline drops on occassion especially the past few weeks.

Re: I WANT TO CRY
Wow, it must be eye day or something! I'm sorry you're going through this too...it really s/ucks!!! My eyes are very prone to infection and really sensitive to contact solutions, not even the contact itself. Even a solution that's a little old, but not even expired, and I'll be out of commission for 3 weeks, like what I'm going to be now. I hate eyes!!!
