Something is wrong with my eyes ever since august I have had trouble with contacts my eyes get blood shot after a few hours and I am so scared of what will happy on my 'big day' my doctor said all i could do is keep trying different pairs till i find 1 cause my eyes developed a sensitivity, but that requires going 100 times and paying my $40 co pay each time! I am so sad

Re: I WANT TO CRY
My old co-worker had that problem... she ended up having that eye surgery and it worked. Everyday I saw her.. her eyes were a mess... she looked like she had been crying all day and night! They were red and bloodshot! It was getting worse and worse until she got the lasik surgery. Is that an option for you? he healing time is quite fast from what I hear. Although I am sure it depends on what type of corrective eye surgery you have.

My contact lens dr has me buy a 'contract' each year, which lets me come back as many times as I need and try as many lenses as necessary until I found a good pair for me. Maybe you need to change drs!
Do you try putting in eye drops?
Another thing could be the way you clean them at night. Do you rub them to get off the proteins and dirt from the day before you soak them? You can try using a soap (Miraflow, I think), too. I have lots more suggestions if you let me know what you've tried so far.
mine does this 2 I am really considering it cause a few months ago I spent like 200 bucks on going there but the year was almost over so he said just do it next year

i think you should def take a break from the contacts for a bit... the same thing happened to me last summer and i actually got an ulcer on my eye (but dont worry that was b/c i slept with them in for a few days) .. but my eye doc told me to use glasses for a whihle... then i went out and got the lasik!! best thing i've ever done
how much is lasik? if i wasnt getting married this year I would be all on that lol

Re: I WANT TO CRY
i used to work for an optometrist, and when she was fitting someone for contacts, they would pay the exam fee the first time and then have as many follow up appointments as they needed (at no charge) until the contacts were right...
I'd maybe look into a different Dr.

I agree, I go to an optometrist only, and I never have to pay unless I'm getting an exam, or for my actual contacts. Just went today and got drops and everything for nothing. But if this is so chronic for you as it seems, you're probably better off with an ophthalmologist.

Is Lasik an option?
I wear the Acuvue Oasys and they are seriously the best contacts I've ever worn (and I've been wearing contracts 15 years)
I wear these too and my eye sight is AWFUL. Every once in a while I definitely wear my glasses to work to give my eyes a break - do you have 'dry eye?' Try drops? I'm sure you have - I just making sure!

my doctor has some 200 for the whole year plan it includes unlimited visits and I could try as maney contacts as needed, i never had to use this program but it seems like my best option at this point, I just want it resolved for the wedding and honeymoon..

So this is probably bad but I've always slept with contacts in. I don't even own solution because I don't take them out until its time to throw them away... Thats probably gross so maybe I shouldn't be admitting that on the internet... but I've done it for eight years without a problem..... Hope I don't get an eye ulcer!
Try Acuve Oasys.... Thats what I use and my dr. recommended them since I sleep in contacts. They keep your eyes really hydrated....
