Ok so our wedding is get this...24 days away! That is correct 24 days! My FMIL has STILL not purchased a MOG dress. I seriously don't understand what her problem is. She has nothing in her closet that she could wear (she has a very plain, comfortable style) and doesn't even own anything close to a gown. FH and I have been on her since MARCH of '08 to buy a gown. Then when my Mom bought a gown in OCTOBER we were really talking to her about it and NOTHING! She has not purchased ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally the other day we were over there and she was talking about color of shoes. So I finally flat out said how can you even consider the color or style of shoes when you don't have a dress. I don't know what to do anymore girls. I mean I don't even know if it is possible to purchase a gown and get it altered and all done in 24 days!!!!!!!
Please provide some advice. I don't know why people feel it is absolutely necessary to stress me out right now! Not happy

I wouldnt even stress it. If she wants to wait until the last minute and not look as nice as your mother thats her problem. What can you do?

I understand your pain. My MIL never purchased a gown in fact we didn't even know if she was going to show to our wedding. She showed up in some ugly black dress to our wedding. I felt so stupid telling the florist I didn't know what color my fmil was going to wear. I wouldn't worry about it, in the end it didn't matter.
Really, just let her do her thing, you do what you have it. Guess what it isn't her day and if she doesn't want to do what she has to do than don't let it get to you. She will be the one who looks out of place at the wedding with an ugly gown, or one that doesn't fit right because she didn't have the time to have it altered.

I went to Estelle's Dressy Dresses last weekend and they had a HUGE selection of dresses!!! Also Macy's is where my FH's mom got her dress for her other son's wedding and she didn't need any alterations. It was also a traditional Mother of Groom dress. Good Luck!!! SOunds like your FMIL needs for you to go Bridzilla on her. LOL
