a graduate school classmate's wedding. Him and i are friendly and work at the same place, but I really won't know anyone there, so I'm not going to go.
Now here are my questions:
1 - When I return my RSVP declining should I include my gift then or send him a seperate card after the wedding with my gift?
2 - I'm thinking of sending him a check for $50. Is that enough?

i would send the RSVP separate. you can either send a check or send a gift from the registry to him and his FW.

gettting my RSVP's back I find that most are sending a NO with a check for about $50. I dont think you need to spend more than that unless you are really close good friends

I think $50 is fine, but if you could afford to, $75 is a little nicer. I would definitely send it with a wedding card, that will make it a little more personal. You could send them at the same time. I did that to a friend of a friend -- but I was actually annoyed that I was invited to her wedding, without a guest, because I wasn't really friends with her at all -- she was really more of an acquaintance.
