I wish i could get a puppy.....

I know how you feel. DH and I wanted a puppy so bad while we were renting but we weren't allowed. We begged both our different landlords and they both said no. The time will come one day.

I had to wait 34 years to get a puppy!!!!! Don't worry, you'll have one someday. If it makes you feel better, puppies are a lot of work, and you lose some of your freedom (just like with kids!). Totally worth it though, but just something to think about

The puppies are sooo cute, but sooo much work. Trust me. I love my dog sooo much, but in the beginning it was constant work. Now it is a bit easier but we still need a weekend sitter if we want to go away for the day or the weekend, dog food, dog treats, grooming, vet.....it's not cheap. I don't want to burst your bubble, but the vet bills can buy me a pair of shoes or something. And if you are broke (right before payday) and there is no people food or dog food, hmmmm.

My dog is sooo spoiled, between doggie day care, grooming, food, treats, toys, cute dishes, photos, he is not just a dog, he is part of the family---plus I paid a lot for him ---
walking them in the freezing rain is horrible, but I love him and that is what it is all about!

Sorry to put a damper on your desire! Just a little reality.

this was so cute.. as i'm sitting here reading these posts about wanting puppies i'm thinking to myself, man i want a puppy. and out of nowhere my cat who never usually wants to cuddle jumps up into my lap and starts cuddling, purring and fell asleep.

i guess i can stick with just her for a while.

I agree with all the posts about the puppy as a TON of work! We actually just brought home a Rottie puppy 3weeks ago, and I can't tell you how DIFFERENT our life has become since! It's CONSTANT supervision, attention, training, discipline and I'm not even going to mention all the doubt, worry and questions that you suddenly have as a new puppy owner! :) From your pic, it seems that you're considering a Rottie too? They are a HANDFUL as pups, just a fair word of warning! Be prepared to make this dog your LIFE for his first several months with you! :) DH and I are both training our pup (now 10 weeks old), and even though he is extremely intelligent - he's equally persistent in trying to get his own way!! LOTS of patience is needed with this breed - something I'm learing more and more everyday

It's totally worth it though - even though our little Golem is a terror now at times, once he's a little older and trained, it's so going to be worth all the sleepless nights we're currently having!! Plus, just seeing how happy he is when he looks at us with that little stump of a nub tail wagging - melts my heart and makes me want to be the best owner possible for him :)
