Thank u sooo much girlies!
Okie so here r some tips he gave me:
1) Make sure to specify on the invitations, what kind of attire you want ur guests to have. He said that beleive it or not there r people that go to weddings in sweat pants!!!
2) I mentioned to him that I like Hydrangeas but was scared that they'll be too pricey. He said that's what most people beleive, but they're actually not pricey at all, he suggested to order Chinease Hydrangeas because they're fuller.
3) I told him I'm gonna use an eggplant color for the bridesmaid's dresses and he totally loved it, but he did warn me that some dresses have a liner under the actual dress, if this is the case, make sure the liner is of a lavender so u can appreaciate the eggplant color, otherwise if the liner color is dark, it will 'bleed' through the eggplant color making it look black-ish.
4) I was also worried that the colors I want to use (BM's dresses, flowers, cake) would not go well with the colors from the room. He said that he doesn't really mind about that because once you set up everething -including lighting- every color will complement each other.
5) I was also worried about the BM's dresses and my 2 MOH's dresses. I asked him what would look better: 1) same color of dresses for BMs and MOHs but different styles for the MOHs, 2) same style of dresses for BMs and MOHs but different colors. He opted for option 1 and said that it would be better to see more of the color throughout the wedding.
6) He actually didn't really agree with me on something. Some weeks ago, I had posted a poll in liweddings asking ur advice on a little dilema I had (wheter have the ceremony in the venue, which would have meant seeing my FH before taking the pictures), well I changed my mind and decided to have the ceremony in a church, then pictures, then party. The only problem with this, is that my guests would have to wait like 2 hours between the ceremony and the party. Thas was David's concern, he said that a lot of people probably won't come to the ceremony because of the lapse of time and then he asked me: what was more important for me, having everybody in the ceremony and in the party, or letting my FH seeing me before the ceremony. I said the 2nd option just because I didn't want to ruin the wow effect in the actual ceremony, he totally understood my point of view.
7) Finally he told me to make sure to NOT follow the traditional things usually done in a wedding (example: type of flowers, dress, cake) because most likely guests will soon forget all about it. Try to make it special by always going beyond, with a unique personal touch, not always playing safe. He said: walking down the aisle with style, doesn't mean breaking the bank, make sure to do research and don't be scared to try different things, these will stay in ur memories and ur guests' forever.
It was an OUT OF THIS WORLD experience, I'm reading through the notes I took during our meeting and I still can't beleive I got to meet him! I hope u girlies can benefit of these tips as well
