I won the IPOD!!

I just got home and found out that I won the Ipod from the Wedding Song contest!!


I have been having a seriously horrible week until right this very second!! And I have never won anything in my life! I am so happy!

Name: Loving Wings by Dave Matthews Band

We are both huge DMB fans, so we always knew that our song would be something by them. A few years ago we went to a concert in Washington (the state) and one of the nights they played that song. 10 seconds into it we both looked at each other and said, 'this is it.'

The song has a special meaning for my FH and I because my mother had been diagnosed with cancer right before I met him. We met online, and on our first date he pulled up in front of my house with a huge smile on his face, and we both remember that exact moment to this day. The opening lyrics of the song are: 'My heart was made of broken bones My soul a bag of stick and stones Then you along this dusty road Have come, my love, to take me home.'

She was sick throughout our entire relationship and passed away two years ago. He was there for me every step of the way, and if I didn't have him I'm not sure how I would have gotten through it. 'You lightly lifted me away Out of a darkness cold and gray And I work beneath the midday sun A cold blue water, you have come.' We chose this song not only because of the symbolism with our relationship, but also because the chorus portrays the guests at our wedding: 'And I give to you my everything Because you've given me these loving wings And angels have all gathered 'round To hear me sing my love out loud.'

It did not take much convincing on either of our parts to realize that this was the perfect song for us. We are both unique and didn't want a song that many others have used. Of all the couples on this site, I don't think anyone else is using that song.

Yup got chills reading that too! Good story, sorry to hear about your mom. It's nice that you had FH to be with you through that time.
