I would like your opinion please. (Updated)

My FI wants placecard holders and favors. I want a nicer favor and candy bars. So I think I came up with a good solution, but before I talk to him about it I wanted to know what all of you thought, honestly. What if I used a 4' x 6' pic frame as a placecard frame and a favor. I would get really nice frames and make up something on my computer. I then would have the chocolate bars on the tables. I think this is a good compromise, but is it a dumb idea? Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for your opinions. He didnt want to do the little 2x3 frames as the placecard and favor, he still wanted to do a favor, but he loved the choclate bar idea for a placecard so it looks like thats what we are going to do. BTW, the only reason I am letting him make the decision on this is because he let me do and have whatever I have wanted for the wedding so far, no questions asked.

Another compromise is to have the candy bar wrappers made up as the placecards. I used to have a website for one company who provides these. I can get it again if you want it, but I'm sure a search on Google or something will give you plenty of suggestions. Good luck!

I think it's a very generous idea. You will in effect be giving them two favors and the candy bar, which is always nice. My only reservation is the size of the frame. I'm sorry, and I may be wrong, but I think that's a little large. Whenever I have seen frames used as seating cards, they have been the smaller ones - maybe 2x3 inch or so. If you are having a small wedding then it certainly wouldn't matter. But I'm visualizing 100 frames on a table together. Even if you put 10 deep, you will need 10 across. Giving one inch between the rows, that totally covers a 6 ft. table. I just want you to be aware of the total scale.

I agree with the size thing though, that is a little large.

I like that idea of the picture frame/placecard/favor.

I actually wouldn't do both but that's me, I think 1 favor is enough. But if you want to do the candy bar too, then go for it.

I like Smolokoff's (sp?) idea of the chocolate bar as the place setting, too.

Another idea that I like is the votive candle place setting. There are some posts with pictures on here if you do a search you'll find some I'm sure.

My sister had 2x3 frames that doubled as place cards. Everyone really liked them. I think a larger size would be too big.

I like the chocolate idea too. We saw customized wrappers for miniatures too.
