I didn't read the post before it was pulled, but from what I'm reading on here, I don't think that anyone has a right to critize (sp?) you and your FH or anyone else for that matter. Especially if it's over how long you were together before getting engaged/married. There's no set 'time limit' on something like that.

I'm sorry that it came from someone you knew before LIW, and I hope that everything works out!

we dated for 5 1/2 years before getting engaged!

Everyone has their own lifestyle... like I said on the 06 board, when we met I was 16! There is NO WAY that getting engaged aftre 6 months would have worked for us. Now, FH just finished his masters (in december) and I'm finishing in May... this way we can start our life the way the we want to!

I think that being with someone for so long is a blessing! I wouldn't have wanted it any other way

I saw the original post before it was pulled and I do believe you had a right to call her on it. Everyone should be allowed to live their lives free from judgement of others.

Mike and I met 7.5 years ago. We have been seriously dating for almost 4.5 years and I wouldn't have it any other way. We needed time to finish school, mature and get financially stable.

Oh, Lord, the things that judgemental people could say about me, if you knew all my lovely past history. FH and I have been together 7 years, have watched couples we are friends with meet, get engaged, get married, and get divorced all before we even got engaged at 5+ years! No one should sit in judgement, you never know what life has in store for you! The hell with anyone trying to bring you down, it's your year!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not see the post. But this site is not for bad mouthing or trying to talk smack or hurt other people's feelings. Its for support and to get some pointers and speak to some greta people who are going through the same experience as u. U have a right get ticked off!!!

I think I am able to figure out what the '06 post was...My FH and I have been together for 7 years and engaged for a little bit over a year. We had a lot of things we had to do first...
No one has the right to tell you what your timetable should be. No worries!! You do whatever you feel is right for your life!!
