Our DJ, In The Mood, suggested an idea to us. We dont want to do the bk toss and the garter toss. Instead...
He asks all married couples to come out on the dance floor. they start eliminating people by saying: couples married less than one day have to leave the dance floor, then less than a year and so on and so on until you have the couple that has been married the longest. at that point, the bride and groom present the bk to the couple. it's a special way to honor a couple that has been together for many years.
FH and i love this idea and we are def doing it. Just thought I would share.

That's an 'anniversary dance' right? It's pretty common - and I think it's a nice idea! Although in my family, the couple with the longest marriage would be my dad's younger brother, I think - 25 years? My family doesn't have the best history with marriages staying together.

My FBIL and FSIL just did that last weekend at their wedding! It was really nice....the couple was so excited too!!!! They really enjoyed it!

I actually had In The Mood for my sweet 16 they were GREAT!!!! They came early to set up, and even stayed an extra hour for free (of course we threw them more money) just because everyone was having so much fun!!!!!

You'd be suprised. FSIL thought she knew who would get it, but she was wrong! it was so great to see the couple that won.....they had been married for 53 years!!!!!!!! I hope FH and I are together that long! Actually I hope I can still dance at that age
