Idea stolen from 08 board - work or at home with kids?

I plan on returning to work after my maternity leave! I am the primary breadwinner, so either FH will need to stay at home more and cut back his hours, or we will need to find a nanny, other daycare or use our parents to help out. Of course, that won't be for many many years!

We already have it planned out that I will stay at home until our kids are at school full-time. In our situation it doesn't make sense for me to return to work full-time and have someone else watch our kids.

I plan on going back to work full time. I love working and besides that I make a lot so I wouldn't want to cut back on our income. My mother and father will help us raise our children so we can both work.

I probably wont be able to but I'd love to stay home until they're in school.

by the time i have children i'll be a nurse. i'll go back to work part time a couple of days a week. i'm not a stay-at-home type of person.

I really hope I'm in the position where I can stay home with my kids..its always been my dream - I was that girl who said I want to be a housewife and a mommy when I grow up lolz

I would love to be a stay at home mom. Unfortunately living on Long Island is not going to make that an option for me. But...ya never know!!

If I did have kids I would go back to work full time. I spent too much time and money on school to be a stay at home mom. Also, I'm pretty useless domestically.

Where is the I already have a kid option?

After I had my daughter staying home wasn't a option to stay home well not on long island... We now live in buffalo unfotunetally a had hurt my back last year and my doctors say no work(well at least not what i was doing) i can't lift,bend, stretch lean foward,push pull even sleeping is a problem now.....
thank goodness the military pays FH fairly decent so we can get by..... if we were still on LI i think we would be strugling

so at the moment till the doctors can figure out what they are doing with me i'm a temp stay at home mommy.

finding a dress at the moment that doesn't kill my back is a little difficult now too but i have faith that i will find a lighter dress that looks amazing on me

Although i'd like to stay home i know i'd get really bored. I want to try to get a family member to take care of the kids like my grandmother took care of us when my parents went to work.

I would love to be able to stay home full time and maybe go back to work eventually but unfortunately I'll probably have to go back to work full time

I posted part time. Only because I have 2 jobs I would have to give up my 3-6 job. And only work 8-3.

I would love to stay home with my kids but I doubt it will be possible financially.

I would love to stay at home with my kids. However i think i would need a part time job to keep me sane!!
