Ideas for a Groom's Cake: updated idea at the bottom

Ladies, I need some help here. Now, I know Vinny better then he knows himself but for some reason I'm stumped on the Groom's Cake idea for him. It's something I really want to do but choosing WHAT is hard.

I, at first, thought of an old fashioned Doctor's bag... like the one Doc Baker used to carry around on Little House on the Prairie-- any fans?? Anywho, but I hesitate because I feel like is that JINXING him since we will not know his MCAT results until late next month and WHAT IF something happens where he cannot or will not become a Doctor? I mean, I know the chances are slim-- am I reading too much into this?

Any other suggestions??

We have always had this ongoing joke about him being the Captain of the Football and Baseball teams in HS... Vinny was Mr. Popularity little twirp! LOL... But on our first date he had to, of course, go out of his way to mention how he was the Captain to me... Even though it was FIVE years later HAHA... So, it is something I tease him about to this day and we always laugh and he INSISTS he did NOT mention it just to make me think he was cool

Anyway-- something with that or the Doc thing??

What do you girls think?? Or do you have ANY other suggestions?? HELP!

OK I have a question for all the girls in this thread - not to hiijack the thread from the OP -

What do you ladies think if I had a personal size 'groom's cake' made just for my FH to be served to him at the reception? It would be a mini Eagles helmet.

and then he could have some left over to save as a momento.

LOL yeah, Melissa is right in a way, it could be reminiscent of the armadillo cake in Steel Magnolias.

But I think that your puppy would make such an adorable cake! You probably think she's so cute that you could just eat her up, now you actually can!

Here's my idea....

ALL Vinny ever watches is the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet....

So, I always say 'why do we even have ANY other channels?? Why bother??'

How about a big remote with just these buttons:

ON

(Animal Planet LOGO)

(Discovery Channel LOGO)

OFF

(and each thing would have it's own button-- four big buttons)

how funny?!

That is genius - I love it!!! My FH and I are guilty of the same channel watching too! Except for us you'd have to add National Geographic, the History Channel, and the Food Network.

love it...its totally original....and it is specific for you two and anyone who knows Vin will totally appreciate it and laugh!! you know that no one else will ever have a cake like that!!!
