Ideas for a non-typical bachelorette party.

Ideas for a non-typical bachelorette party.

Help.

I was considering NKOTB two nights before the wedding, but I think I'm kind of over that idea.

I want something...different. I've done enough drunken nights out, and there will be more to come post-wedding since my favorite partner in bar-hopping crime is the man I'm marrying.

I was thinking of going to Make in NYC and then dinner at Lips, or something like that. (Lips is still open...some girls are saying it's not but I just checked with two guys here that know people there...it's still open!)

Something along those lines. I've also thought of candlemaking or soapmaking...or something food-related (vegetarian, naturally). Anyone have suggestions/ideas? Preferably in NYC/Queens/BK.

Got this from Yahoo:

Make the bride go on a video scavenger hunt. She has to take a video camera, dress up in a costume of some sort (tiara and veil perhaps), and then give her a list of things she has to find and capture on the video camera - examples:
A couple who has been married for longer than 50 years.
A man with the same name as her fiance.
A couple whose anniversary is the same date as her wedding day.
The ugliest bridesmaid dress she can find.
A person dressed in the bride's wedding colors.
Etc...
All of the bridesmaids should come with her as she films, and generally have a good time by daring her to do various embarrassing things during the scavenger hunt (ie- make her sing 'going to the chapel' in the middle of a crowded place, and capture her singing on video).
You'll all have a blast, the bride will get a lot of attention, but there will be no 'inappropriate' things going on. At the end of the scavenger hunt, you can all go to one person's house for pizza and popcorn while you watch the video. She'll also end up with a great keepsake from her bachelorette party.

what about painting pottery, drinking wine, eating food and singing karaoke all at once?

the lil shop of plaster and pottery on the UES has a back room and a karaoke machine. they are so cool there. went there for an engagemtn party and it was soo much fun!

Re: Ideas for a non-typical bachelorette party.

one idea is a place called 5th ave chocolatier in valley stream on rockaway ave... at night they will close down the place you can bring wine or your drink of preference and then you and the ladies fondue the night away with WHATEVER your choice is! Who doesnt love chocolate, wine and nice convos with your best gals?

Another idea is www.cityhunt.org Its a scavenger hunt/bar crawl designed specifically about the bride and groom.. its gets really competitive since you're split up into several groups and are wandering around manhattan taking random pictures, figuring out clues and asking strangers for help... you're so into the game you forget that each clue leads you to a bar and that theres a pitcher of beer waiting for the team that wins! it is VERY different and VERY fun!!! I planned this for my best friend and we had a BLAST!

HTH! Good Luck!
