ideas for a shower

I want to give my mom some ideas for my shower. I am not into the traditional games. I do not want a jack and jill because we had an engagement party. it will be during the summer and can easily be near the beach (not in the sand). There will also be a lot of little girls there that i am really close to.

Does anyone have any good ideas for a theme? or different things to do during a shower that are more interesting in bridal bingo

i am not really interested in opening presents in front of people for 2 hours

Re: ideas for a shower

For my rehersal dinner, DH's family through us a luau. I have also done the same theme for my mother's shower. We had it in the backyard and had a the themed stuff that went along with it such as the grass skirts and lais. At my rehersal dinner, they hired dance instuctors which was so much fun! I served some Hawaiian inspired dishes as well.

I had a Mexican Margharita Shower. We had it at a Mexican restaraunt. My mom got sombreros and mini cactus's for the tables. We had a sombrero and margharita shaped cookies as favors. And to top it off a Margharita shaped cake.

I suggest you tell whomever is giving your shower, things you like and dont like. I hate bridal bingo, but my mom did it anyone.

Re: ideas for a shower

I just threw a shower this weekend....we played 2 games:

Price is Right - I picked different things off the brides registry and the person who came the closest without going over to the total cost of the items won a prize

Famous Couples - I gave one half of a famous couple and the guests had to give the other half.

I've also seen the pocketbook game where you give a list of things people might have in their pocketbooks and the person that has the most items wins. you can put really weird itmes on the list to make it more interesting.

Also there is an ice breaker game where every person gets a famous person taped to their back and they have to guess who they are by asking the other guests yes or no questions.

If you need more ideas let me know, I'm full of them!!!!!!
