I can't think of anything. My mom has this antique brooch from my grandmother that would match my bouquet perfectly. But she won't let me use it . She said she thinks I'll break it. She actually won't let me use anything of hers because she thinks it'll get ruined.
I don't have any other relatives in the area and I'm the first of my friends to be married. Any other ideas as to where to look for something old/borrowed?

My friend concidered her 'old' also something 'borrowed' (her grandmother's garter). Two birds w/ one stone. What about something borrowed from a friend? A compact? A purse? A hair tie?

Have you considered asking your FMIL? Or having FH suggest that your FMIL offer something?

I'm having this problem too! .. do you have any old jewelry from FH that could be your old? .. or your FIL may be able to give you something borrowed from there wedding

do you have any kind of baby clothing from you or your FH like if you are catholic your baptism outfit maybe you can make a hankerchiff (sp) for the day of and that can be your something old...
something borrowed hmmm borrow a piece of jewlery from your FMIL?? or if you havee an aunt maybe
that really stinks that your mother will not let you borrow something for your special day PERHAPS YOU CAN TRY TO CONVINCE HER
