Ideas Needed

My reception will be at the coral house. as you know it has a lake outside and the coralhouse is victorian looking.
i need an original idea for my placecard table.
ideas for placecards and how i can decorate the table.
i do not have a theme for my wedding but would like to do something a little different but not too difficult.
help!

If Coral house is Victorian looking, you could do something along those lines... maybe for placecards you can get those mini-sized lace fans and hot glue a card on it with the names, and maybe attach ribbon or a flower to it... for the tables you could write or type in a scripted font love poems and put a different poem on each table surrounded by votives...

Hi Jenn,
Since your wedding is in May I think the mini potted potted plants( you could use terra cotta pots or mini wattering cans and plant mini pansies or any spring flower that you like) with a small stick to hold the place cards would be cute, Then it's like a mini favor & you could still do another favor. This is a MS rustic version of what I mean-I would make it more victorian by having a flowering plant & ribbon

I think waht Richsbride that of is really great. I also see that you are using sunflower bowls as favors. Maybe you can plant sunflowers in the pots, or somehow incorporate the sunflowers. Like drape them across the table. That is what I had. I didnt want to spend a fortune for my florist to put a bouquet of flowers on my card table, so I had them scatter rose petals that were the same color as my boquet and BM's, allong with bride/groom bears that were given to me as a gift

I like Richsbride's idea.
My shower favor was very similar. It was the small flower pot (as in the picture) with mini clusters of Sunflowers in it and then a ribbon with a bow tied. Then they made a little piece of paper (that they laminated) that said 'xxxx's shower and the date' so that is where you can put the name and the table #.
They were so great, and after the fact, when I was trying to think of something instead of place cards, I thought they would be cute.

How about the pewter chair placecard holders? They always remind me of victorian decor.
