Ideas to make your wedding 'special/unique'

Hi Ladies,

I was just wondering if you all could share ideas on how you are going to make your wedding'special/unique'

I was thinking of singing a song at my reception either dedicating it to just my husband or to all my friends and family. I sing well, but I am very shy about it, so I don't know if it is just going to make me more nervous/anxious then I'll already be. Then I was thinking of pre-recording a few songs to put on a CD and handout to my guests. I don't know. Maybe I could get some good ideas from all of you.

I haven't really thought about it. But you go girl if you have the voice I think you shuld go for it. FH will always remeber his bride serenading him.

I was thinking about singing something too... I think it would definitely make for a great memory

don't be shy about it... if you have a good voice, show it off!

im not sure what i will do yet but i cant sing for anything
so if you can sing go for it! its your day! and would make it very special to your FH im sure

Awww that is soo romantic!!

If I could sing I'd love to..unfortunately if I did do that my guests would be gone right after the main course.....

Welcome to the boards Melissa!! (I see you are a wedding newbie)

If you want to sing--do it! However, just a little story for ya. One of my BM's, she did that for her husband at their wedding. She too had a beautiful voice, but since it was such a touching song and it's already a highly emotional day, she wound up trying her hardest not to cry during her song. You can see her having a hard time of it in the wedding video. In the end she felt a little embarassed and said she wouldn't do it again, if she could do it over. HOWEVER, that being said...if you asked her husband (a GM in FH's party) about it, he would tell you that she sounded wonderful and he loved it.

Well... I have posted this b/4 but I am really thinking of getting White Castles for my FH during Cocktail hour... b/c he is OBSESSED with them...

That will be special and unique to him... HAHAHHAHA

I know some ppl might think this is ghetto... but... I know it will mean a lot to him so... I DON'T CARE! HAHHAHAHA

FH favorite thing is McDonalds.. I was gonna have someone bring it to him and GM before the ceremony..as like my gift to him.. not only will he get a kick out of it but he'll enjoy it...
OR
We will have a McDonalds runner(most likely a limo guy) for after the ceremony for all of the bridal party b/c there is such a large gap between ceremony and the reception(6hours)

BUT if someone gtes dirty before pictures i will have a FIT..

I would def sing if I could ... you might be emotional, but it will be something truly special that you and your FH will remember for the rest of your lives

ain't nuttin wrong wit a lil' ghetto fabulousness! LMAO!! FH and i are a bit ghetto [we live in brentwood! Hello!!] i think if he loves it, do it! People who truly know you guys will know why you did it!! That's awesome! Make sure you get the Crave Case baby!!

I am also doing lots of things Black and White polka dots bows... BUT NOT CHEESY!!! Classy Polka dots!!!

My Invites, to the ribbons around my flowers, to ribbon on my cake... SO CUTE

I think the white castle would be awesome. The only thing my FI is obsessed with is his job :) I'm still thinking about the singing thing. Maybe I'll pre-record it. I could just see myself an emotional wreck. I once sang at this Jazz Club in the city and it was a very personal song about having cancer (both grandma and aunt are survivors) and I ended up crying hysterically on stage. I pulled it together to sing but I was so embarrassed. I could also see myself laughing hysterically too because that is how I get when I'm nervous.

After we are pronounced husband and wife I'll have my little sister pull the ribbon and have the rose petals fall on us.
