If a vendor forgot something on your day..

If a vendor forgot something on your day..

Would you mention it to them? A few things that I was told would be done, were not. Everything went perfectly, but things were missing( there were no rose petals at the church, so we had nothing)

our florist forgot the flowers that were supposed to go around the bottom of our cake. the maitre'd at our RH pulled all the red roses out of the floating water bowls that had been on the tables at cocktail hour after CH was over and put them around the base of the cake for us, but the pictures of the cake had already been taken... i was pretty disappointed about that. but everything else was perfect, so i never mentioned it to her. i guess i just figure all is said and done and everyone's human and forgets things once in a while/makes mistakes. granted, for 7 grand she shouldn't have forgotten anything! lol i guess it depends on how much it bothers you... you are definitely entitled to say something if you want to.

So, I am assuming you are talking about your florist?? Well, if there was something that you requested and was promised, then I would mention it. It doesn't hurt to mention things.

I actually should have taken my own advice and made a small complaint to my florist, b/c they must have misunderstood a request that I had made. I wanted a rose to place in the pew, where each of our Mothers were going to sit. So, they could feel extra special and hold a single rose during the ceremony. I wanted a long stem rose and they sent 2 single rose coursages....so those went to waste. It wasn't that big of deal, so I didn't worry about it afterwards.

It wasnt just my florist, but thats the one that is bothering me the most. We were supposed to have dry ice from dj, and it wasnt there, they appologized, and it wasnt a big deal, we didnt really want it anyway. Also chargers werent put on tables. Day of the only thing I noticed was that when we left the church we were showered with nothing, and I had been at the florist 2 days before to make sure he had that in the contract.

You know I was thinking this same thing. I had a couple of things that were promised to me that I never received and I did not say anything to any of my vendors because it did not really affect my day. Noone know but me (not even DH), so I said to myself, let it go. But I still think about it every now and then and it bothers me. I think I should say something, but I don't know if I waited too long now.

Thats exactly how I feel. I mean it really didnt harm the day at all, my day was pretty perfect. Now I feel like I waited too long to say anything..

Yes - we called our florist twice regarding issues we had, they never called us back.

Darn florists seem to be giving everyone a problem!

My florist told me to give him my cake topper to put on the cake and he never did. I called him because I wanted the cake topper but after months of calling, he couldn't find it. There's really nothing I can do about it. Day of, the maitre'd was making mistakes but I told him as they were happening so calling him won't help me. The only thing I haven't addressed is that my camera man never made it to old westbury gardens. I want to mention something but he's so nice that I feel bad and I feel like it won't make a difference now. I'd say if you feel that it was important to you, then call. Even if you say you're calling so this doesn't happen to a future bride. Good luck

I would mention it - It might not help you but it could help a future bride. I let my rh now of the things they messed up nothing major but small points.

Our DJ forgot a few things. They downloaded the wrong first song, so we were supposed to dance to the first song by ourselves and then they were to play a 2nd slow song and invite everyone out. We ended up inviting everyone out during the 1st song since they didn't have the other one. Also we were promised a certain DJ and that wasn't the person who showed up. I never said anything because they two guys who were there were awesome.

I wrote a detailed account in the form of an e-mail of our wedding day to our florist in regard to the errors that occurred on their part. I was not accusatory nor was I threatening litigation. I even stated that I would not smear their reputation as I was able to put things into perspective. We had a huge florist bill and the aesthetics were one of the most important aspects of our day. After sending this account complete with pictures, I waited for a response. To this day, I still have not received an acknowledgement. Since the wedding had already come and gone and I knew there was no recourse, a simple 'We're sorry' would have sufficed. They left me sour and bitter.

Yeah I definitely would mention it. I don't think anything major was forgot. The florist at first gave us 1 less corsage than we were supposed to get, but they went back and got 1 for us...My photographer forgot a few things, but he was also a lifesaver the day of my wedding because he was the only one who knew how to tie the corset of my dress so I didnt have the heart to say anything after the fact. Now I want day after shots. Go figure!
The DJ forgot to play a few songs that were on our play list that I didn't realize until like after the HM...

I would definitely mention something to the vendor.....................

It depends on what it was. The only slip up I had was that the florist put roses on the cake when I asked them not to. I wanted my topper on the cake rather than on the table in front of it but when I really looked at it, the cake looked beautiful so I never said a word because it was too minor to make a big deal out of. I was too excited to worry about something so small.
