If any of you ladies have loans with Sallie Mae....

there has been an error in billing about 2 years ago and they just caught it. Can you imagine that? I noticed that in my new statement that my payment went up by 75.00. When I called the woman was very nice and explained that there was a calculary error with variable interest rate student loans. I am furious, but in order to repay in time, I have to **** up the $75.00 per month. I know it isn't much money, but still it annoys me that it took the 2 years to find the error! UGH!!!!

wow, thats terrible. I have some student loans with them and have had no problems... they actually just lowered my payments b/c I was overpaying them for 2 years. you don't pay automatically do you? I have a friend who had it deducted from her account monthly and had some problems with that.

I have a student loan with sallie mae too,
I got a letter last week about it,
Luckily I have been paying double on most payments,
I just want to get it over with as quick as possible,
I think next year at tax time I will make a larger payment!.

also when they sent me my new coupons,
They start with Nov 2003, so I need to call and get coupons for Aug, Sept and Oct,
weird.

I cant believe they made such a mistake,
just thought it was with mine.

LOL..you were overpaying and I was underpaying! UGH....I really don't think this service has the man power to handle the amount of accounts!

I got this too! Mine didn't go up nearly as much as some of you girls, only like $20 which isn't much. I was mad as well, their fault, but we are paying!!!! UGH!

Mine went down a bit, but they only mailed me coupons for June and July. I hope they don't up my loans too much!

I got that same letter a few weeks ago after I sent in my July payment. Can't anybody do anything right.

Same here! My payment went from $157 to $209 a months! you would imagine that people working for a bank knew how to count! What annoyed me even more was the fact that a year ago my payments were lowered because they thought I was on schedule and could get away with lesser amount. I could have just kept on paying $209 the whole time and be done with it sooner.

we haven't gotten a letter yet (Al has loans) - I hope his payment goes down and not up! (though we've been paying higher than the required amount each month anyway).

I HATE his loans!

I got the same letter because I have doubled and tripled up I have to pay I think $4 more a month!! It is wrong. It was their error we shouldn't have to pay!!
