If FH's parents arent paying??

Original post by Tromsugar2b

are you including them in the limo? my parents are paying for more than half the wedding so I feel its necessary that they have some nice transportation but I want other ladies opinions on what your doing with FH's parents? I kinda feel like if you haven't paid you shouldn't be treated as a planner like my parents are throwing this wedding in a sense and FH's are just guests?? Whats your opinionss...?

EDit: Just wanted to add that i guess my situation sounds pretty normal from my question but now that many of you replied, i realize its quite different, in my case its not even really about the money, thats kind of the icing on the cake. Thanks for your responses!!

My parents are paying for the RH, my veil, and my dress.
FH & I are paying for everything else (limos, photog, etc)
FIL's have not offered to pay for anything yet. I'm not sure if they will, or if they will just give a generous gift, or what.
But we are getting a limo for all of the parents (mine & FH's) and my grandparents. FH & I are paying for it. Our parents live 2 blocks away so it would be ridiculous to not invite FH's parents in the limo.
Trust me, I know it is frustrating if one side contributes and one doesn't, but as someone posted above....they are your inlaw's for the rest of your life and should be respected (unless the've done someone awful).

My parents are contributing, FH parents aren't. Truthfully I never even thought about leaving his parents to find their own transportation on our wedding day. It was just automatic for us, we just got one stretch limo for the parents and grandparents; they can all fit.

huh - interesting you should ask this. FH and I are paying for about 70% of the wedding, while my parents are paying 30%. FILs have no interest whatsoever with helping us out in any way - I am not saying it has to be monitarily (which they can definitely afford), at all (this has caused major drama and is a huge thorn in both FH and my side....long story and dont want to go into it). With that being said we are still including them in the limo..but my parents and his parents will have a limo together - separate fromthe BP

My parents are paying for the wedding...FH's parents are not contributing. We are still getting them a limo to take to the RH (getting married at RH).

My parents are paying for most of our wedding and his parents are giving us a very small portion.. HOWEVER.. they're not doing it out of spite or anything, they just can't do it financially.. and because of that, there is no way that we would EVER treat them any different. They're going to be your in-laws for the rest of your life.. so treat them with some respect (unless they don't show you any), and get them a limo as well.

ITA. My fh does not have a relationship with his father so he is not coming to the wedding. I refuse to treat my mother in law differently simply because she cannot afford to contribute to the wedding. I want her to be treated like the mother of the groom the entire time.

I think regardless of who is helping financially that things sort of have to be equal because it will create bad feelings for your FH's parents. If the situation was reversed and his parents were giving more money would you want your parents to be left out?

Yeah, FH and I are paying for 80% ourselves, 20% my parents. So far no mention of FH's parents contributing, but I'll still probably put them in the limo or at the very least in the partybus.
