Sure, it would be nice to tip extra, but if we are already paying for it in our contract per person, do we NEED to do extra? Is it expected?

The average tipping is 2-4 per person. If it is in your contract then you don't have to. Read the tipping bump I sent you. It's all in there. And don't worry about tipping so much. I say pay the people what you owe them first and then whatever you have left over use for a tip. Don't go broke tipping bc you won't know the kind of service your going to get until your day.

You have to see how it is worded in your contract. If it is called a service charge (18%) then that does not go to the Maitre D'; but if states Maitre D' tip and it is included in your total, then I would not tip any more (maybe $100 or 2 more if you feel it was worth it).

I think if he goes above and beyond I would tip him a little extra. It depends how good he/she is.

$2-4$ pp, almost all the RH halls i went to stated that its customary to give anywhere from $3- 6$ per person.... ahh whatever ...ill give whatever i can according how smoothly and how helpful he/she was

I wouldn't if it's already in the contract.

We're having a similar issue. On our contract we're paying a 'maitre d fee'. We're NOT giving any extra tip since we feel the fee is a lot to begin with. If its not within your budget, dont sweat it--you're already giving them a ton of money.
