i know it MEANS - sad and melancholy... but people use it to mean having no life, meaningless loser... stuff like that... (since people don't seem to always know the correct meaning to words they use... which makes them pathetic! hehe)

It would depend the context of how they called me that. In whatever circumstance, pathetic is usually not a positive term.

I don't think people realize what this site is actually about. They think it's only for wedding planning. You're coworker is jealous

If someone called me pathetic, I would take it that they thought I was a loser, leading a loser's life. Or that I was beyond help.

If someone called me pathetic, I would realize that whoever said it was NOT a friend to me, was NOT a positive influence in my life, and I would no longer associate with that person.

I WOULD NOT take their opinion as fact. I wouldn't walk around thinking I was really 'pathetic' just because someone said I was.

I would explain to her how PATHETIC she is for not having her own life and for spending her time looking over your shoulder. I would tell her she is obviously jealous or she wouldn't bother even trying to see what you were doing.

I find that usually the person calling you pathetic is jealous & lonely. JMHO.

But I would probably kick them in the shins really hard!

ditto LizD....it would mean that they have nothing to occupy their own empty life so they have to make themselves feel better by judging me.

And NO ONE is in a position to judge you, except maybe your mother but even then not really, so don't let it bother you!!
