Re: if u take the express bus to work?
Hey, my ex used to work this busline (well the Bayside one). I think that would be more than enough time. The first week I'd definitely play it safe though & take an earlier one. Also, don't be surprised if you have to stand. I know the Bayside buses got super crowded & people would complain that they are paying $4. and have to stand for an hour. I know on some days I was able to get in in about 40 minutes.

If thats when the bus picks you up at Main Street.... that should be enough time. I believe Main Street is the last stop before the bus heads to the city. You should be at 42nd street by 8:30.

Flushing is one of the last stops going to the city actually. So you may not be guaranteed a seat. Which number bus is this?
42nd street is one of the first stops leaving the city coming home, so you should get a seat coming home.

If your at Main St Flushing, why wouldn't you take the 7 express to GCT?

WC is right, that would probably be quicker & you'd get a seat, definitely cheaper.
To be honest I preferred the subway, LIRR over the Express Bus b/c sometimes you'd get stuck in traffic & it was crowded & expensive & such.

if you take the LIRR or the train into flushing take the bus that turns up Kissena onto the service road
