If you are getting married at your RH, what was your reasoning for choosing that?

A few reasons:

1. CONVENIENCE-for us and our guests (one stop for everyone). We also didn't want to have to deal with Pre-Cana, making sure the church was available on the date we booked the RH

2. We basically wanted to force our guests into coming to the ceremony. More and more the crowd gets less and less at the church. The ceremony (even though it's short) is important to us and we want our guests to be there.

3. Our RH is on the water and offers the most beautiful setting.

We are thinking of going through the process of getting married in the church/recognized for our one year anniversary.

This was something we thought about for a long time.. Even though I'm Catholic (and there are weird rules about not getting married outside), we both liked the idea of getting married outside. It was a more neutral place, where we could incorporate religion and our own personalities in our own way. And it's beautiful!

we feel the SAME way!

plus, how could we resist this....

Hayley, its gorgeous!

We are both catholic but I was never confirmed, so I would have ahd to go back to Adult continuing education. That part was OK, but like MJdoc12 stated I guess we're more the agnostic route now, we don't practice but we beleive. I did not want to be a hypocrite by jumping thru hoops to get married and then after the wedding, not go back. Also, if we have nice weather, it will be an outdoor ceremony.

I guess we fall under the all of the above category

FH is jewish and I was raised catholic, but I really don't like the catholic church. I never really pictured myself getting married in a church. I always wanted to get married on the water and that's exactly what I'm doing.

I would love to have my ceremony in the church that I went to as a child or one of my favorite churches in downtown Brooklyn. I chose not to for 2 reasons...the first being that FH isn't all that religious and the second is that this will be the second marriage for FH.

Main reason is my church does not have a parking lot

1) Convenience: we are paying one flat rate for the set up, use of room, and flowers.

2) No need for all the religious stuff: DH and i are both raised catholic , but do not attend church anymore. i didn't feel like having to do all the pre-cana, FOCUS, meetings, etc. to a priest to kind of justify why we are marrying

3)Agnostic: DH and i are both non-believers in church in general....while we do believe in God, we just don't think ppl should have to go to church and such for their faith. our ceremony was spiritual more than anything

3)Easier for our guests: no need for them to come out to two locations at all...just park your car and stay for the ceremony, CH, and reception. can't tell ya how many guests said they LOVED that

Same for us!

We are getting married there because we are not very religious at all, and sometimes- it seems easier not to have that break in the middle

but I think its BEAUTIFUL both ways.

We would have done a Temple if religious....

Same here

well...i definitely wouldnt do a church but im jewish. but if we were to get married in a temple we would have had to have the reception there and i didnt want that. plus ive always wanted an outdoor ceremony. i hope i get that.

We're getting married in a temple and that's where everything will be. THis temple is sooo beautiful and big so it's perfect.

yup here too.

i didnt make sacraments FH did - the church doesnt want us ..... and honestly i dont care - we're better off with the guest convenience, guest attendance and beauty of an RH ceremony.

My reasons:
1) I am not a member of any church in Long Island, so I have to pay a lot more to use their church.
2) Save money on Limo
3) I am getting married on Friday, so It is easier for all my OOT guests to get here on time.
4) I don't have to get up early

We are not religious, so getting married in a church seem a bit hypocritical.

Wanted to get married outdoors on the water...and FH doesn't go to church unless his mom or I 'make' him..haha..getting married in a church was never important to me..and since i am Lutheran, it's not considered a sacrament or anything anyway...even my parents new pastor said marriage isn't a 'Christian' thing...it's something everyone does..which i thought was interesting.

We have a lot of the same reasons for getting married at the RH. We are not religious, we do not belong to any church, and it is much easier for our guests. I got so many calls from people telling me how happy they are that they just go to one place. It will be much easier for my OOT guests too. I'm sure a lot more people will be there for the ceremony this way too.

it just seemed to be the most convient for us and our guest to have everything in 1location...we are very religious but we are gonna bring the PRAISE with us...plus the ceremony room at RH is gorgeous and works so well with my theme

honestly, the parking is a nightmare at our church. It's in a private community and everyone needs a sticker or a parking pass. Also, we are saving $$ on no limos b/c I'm getting dress @ the hotel next to my RH.
