FH & I are having a 'debate' over when to make our travel arrangements. He would like to leave ASAP (Like the morning after the wedding). I think I need a day to recover from the wedding and we can leave the following day or maybe late the day after. He thinks I'm wasting time. I need your thoughts here ladies!!

We are getting married Sat. night, and are leaving for Hawaii on Monday morning around 8am.
We want Sunday to relax, open our gifts, and spend time with our family and friends, many of whom are coming from out of town to be with us.

We're actually not leaving for several weeks after our wedding. But virtually everyone we've spoken to who's married has told us not to leave right after the wedding because you'll be tired from all the activity; you'll have friends and family from OOT who you'll want to spend time with and you'll want some time to collect yourself and be relaxed for your honeymoon.
One girl, who left immediatly after her wedding, told me that between the wedding planning, the wedding and the travelling for the honeymoon, she spent the first 4 days of her honeymoon completely zonked.

Thanks for the posts...I know to trust my instincts here & give myself a day off...to do what you said, see out of town guests, open gifts & relax!!!!! (& knowing me, doing some last minute packing!) FH owns his own business so he sees it as a wasted day but i don't think he realizes that we will need the time & he has to make an exception here.

I agree with you. FH and I didn't want to leave the morning after our wedding...we'll need a day to recoup. We're getting married on a Friday and will leave for our honeymoon that Sunday.

We're getting married Saturday evening and leaving Tuesday afternoon. I always wanted at least a day to recover, plus I didnt want to worry about packing before the wedding either.

Our wedding is Saturday night and we're leaving on Monday morning. We wanted time on Sunday to relax, say goodbye to relatives who'd come in for the wedding, and PACK! There's no way I'm going to have time to pack for the honeymoon before the wedding.

we left 2 days later, just to be able to unwind from the night! and to open our cards. we stayed that night in the east wind hotel! good luck!

We are getting out of town early the next morning, but our wedding ends at 5:30pm.

I got married on Friday night, Spent Saturday visiting with out of town guests and family, then our best friends slept over and drove us to the airport sunday morning. It was perfect, we were well rested and ready to go to St. Lucia.
