If you are going to your cocktail hour....

...are you doing introductions at your CH, or are you going to hang out with everyone for an hour and then be introduced (like that last hour never happened)? Am I the only person who thinks it's awkward?

Honestly, in our circle of friends no one really goes to their cocktail hour - they're usually taking pics then.

However, our Best Man got married last year and they took pics before the ceremony, so they went to most of their cocktail hour. When I first heard that they were going to go to their CH, I thought it was kinda strange b/c I had never seen that before, but it was actually nice to see them right after the ceremony.

For us, we have a gap between our church ceremony and reception so we are hoping to take all our pictures during that time. I really want to go to our CH so that I can try to greet and thank as many of my guests as possible so that I can just enjoy my reception! I really don't want to go table to table during the reception - I want to dance and have a great time with my husband and guests!!!

So we'll go to our CH, chat with our guests, and then have our 'Introduction' afterwards when everyone moves into the reception room.

I feel its a little weird-but I plan to do it. I am going to my whole CH and then being formally introduced as Mr and Mrs into the reception. I guess the CH is less formal, so once everyone finds their seat and is in the ballroom everyone will be introduced formally.

we have plenty of time for pix before CH so we wont need the time for pix. and i reaaaaally dont wanna miss the best part of the wedding

we're going to have food brought to us in the bridal suite. i think i want to have some alone time with FH, so i'll have the BP go to the CH.

I dont think it is weird, but we are doing the same. Pictures, Ceremony, CH, then introduction into the reception.

We are going to the cocktail hour only because we are having around 300 people and we dont want to spend the whole recepetion saying hello to everyone we want to enjoy myself...So we are doing it durning cocktail hour and then being introduced...

I love the attention its only 1 day!!!

I thought it was a little weird. But my best friend pointed out that there is usually a receiving line after the ceremony and people see you and congratulate you... then you get introduced again.. so I am looking at the CH as a really long Receiving line.

I don't think it is weird at all. I actually think it is a smart thing to do. FH and I have a large gap between our ceremony and our CH. We will take pics during that time and enjoy the food and the people at the CH. We will say our hellos and thank you's then so that we can enjoy our ENTIRE reception also. And yes we will be 'introduced' at the start of the reception!

We are doing ceremony at the RH, so CH will begin right after. Pics will be before ceremony.
FH and I would like to spend as much time at our CH as possible.
We'll still do the formal intro and stroll into the reception.

We plan on going to the CH and mingling. Then we'll be introduced at the beginning of the reception. I've been to a few weddings where this has been done.

FH and I don't want to go... people are telling me i'm making a mistake -- we're so torn! We could go, we're taking pics between ceremony and reception, we just thought it'd be nice to not have anyone see us until we're introduced. We even added another hour to the reception so we wouln't feel like we were missing out....I'm so torn!!

That's exactly why I want to go to the CH... I DO NOT want to do a receiving line... we dn't have the time!

We're hanging out w/everyone at the cocktail hour and hopefully getting a lot of hello's out of the way and then we'll be formally introduced at the reception along w/our parents and bridal party.

We went to our CH and it RULED! We also did introductions and it was not AT ALL awkward in any way. I say go for it. GO TO YOUR CH!!!! The CH really is the best part!
