If you are or were married at the RH

How much are you paying for the officiant and who are you using?

i used a Rabbi that DH's parents knew ... we paid $500 (and gave him a $50 tip).

a non-religious person could cost you anywhere between 4-800 (sometimes more, sometimes less).

religious people (rabbi's or whatnot) are slightly higher generally.

We're using Rev Deb Viola for a civil ceremony at Fowerfield. It's $375-$475 to be determined after we meet with her regarding exactly what we want.

Pastor April and she can be 375 or 475 depending on what you want.

We started looking early for officiants just in case it took us a while to find someone we liked. We met with Reverend Deb first and LOVED her!! Even FH said we should book her after our first meeting. Thus far, she was the easiest vendor for us to book - one meeting and that was it. Our wedding is next June and we booked it probably early last year sometime. I didn't want to risk her not being available on our day.

Thanks for your reply. I will probably look into booking by December-- I don't know.. I feel like I'm doing everything too early lol .

I felt that way too in the beginning...FH are having a two and half year engagement. FH is in school and I'm in graduate school, so during semesters, we aren't able to get much done...which leaves the summers pretty much. We got most of the bigger and important vendors done pretty quickly, and are now working on a lot for the summer. I'm happy we did it that way because it takes a lot of the stress off. If you have the time, there's really no reason not to get certain things out of the way - but that's just my opinion!
