For the Wedding, what are you doing about the invite wording??
Are you naming your parents anyway on them or just putting you and FH

we're paying so we're not putting the parents names on. The wedding will be very small, so its not like the parents are actually inviting anyone.

I haven't decided yet, although my dad did pay for 1/3 of the catering....But them I'll feel bad mentioning him and not FH's parents.... XOXOXO Kitty

My situation was a little odd... My parents can't afford to contribute but thats totally ok with me (they paid for a few small things which was more then i coudl have ever hoped for).. my moms mother (my grandma) gave us over 5k towards the wedding.. so i wanted to include her someway.. ... i figured FH's parents would pony up a few$ eventually and they did, and his great aunt did too.. so my invite wording goes like...
Together with their families Christi Lauren and Brett Louis invite you to share a day of happiness when they exchange marriage vows as they begin their new life together on DAY YEAR at TIME LOCATION ADDRESS CITY, STATE Adult reception immediately following

My dad chipped in (unexpectedly) but we were always and still are wording it something like this : Together with our (their) families Heather and Richie, blah blah blah. Our parents are divorced and re-married, except for my mom. I just thought the wording was going to very confusing.

My mom is giving me some money, paying for my dress and my fi parents are paying for rd and they paid for our engagement party... i still think on our invites we are the only people that will be stated... as long as no one is offended im sure it will be fine

The same for us and were paying. They are both giving us some money but we are paying for the majority of it.

we are paying for most of the wedding, but we wanted a traditional invite as well...so my parents are requesting the honor of everyone to come to the marriage of me to him etc etc

we are both paying, (fh & I ) but i could not, not include our parents on the invites, imo thats dissrespectfull. they raised us & just because they are not paying doenst mean i cant include their names on the invites,,

FH & I are paying for the whole shabang but are still including our parents on our invite. I think they would be insulted if we didn't. It's not worth upsetting them.

I don't know, I think we'll just avoid the issue altogether by using: The honor of your presence is requested at the marriage of my name and FH name date time location

You know what Bari? I think you should ask a vendor, only because their experienced, and most likely will find wording that suites you and you FH. I do however think that both fathers that have past on be included in some way. Not that my opinion counts, but it's just a thought.
