You know what Bari? I think you should ask a vendor, only because their experienced, and most likely will find wording that suites you and you FH. I do however think that both fathers that have past on be included in some way. Not that my opinion counts, but it's just a thought.

Bar,, Just a FYI , as u know , ive had some issues with the invite wording , so i consultated a ediquite (sp) pro fof that !!! k, anyways ,
in your situation , there is def a way to word it , should u want to include the deseased in the invite , that it WONT sound , well morbid , so to speak,,
im gonna find the place & let ya know

we are paying for it all!!! but i am still going to include our parents names...
something like:
my name
daughter of mr & mrs
and
FH name
son of mr. & mrs.
request the honour .....

havent really gotten to the invitation part of this process but it'll prob go something like that!

afterall, they did raise us..

We are not using our parents names only because it is too confusing, I have my mom and step dad and my real father, FH has his dad and his mom is passed away so it would be too complicated I think in our situation

We are paying ourselves, but we think our families are gonna chip in a little here and there. So, we are going to word it something like:

Request the honor of your presence....

I am putting our names first along with our parents after. My mom would get mad if I did not put her name on the invite even if she is not paying.

We're paying for the wedding, but still putting our parents names on the invite. They raised us and supported us our entire life. We feel that just because we're paying for our wedding, doesn't mean their names should be left off..........

honestly until i started wedding planning i had NO IDEA that hte invite wording had anything to do with who was paying - i thought it just meant who was 'celebrating' . . . SO we will be including both sets of parents on the invites
