and wanted to return .do they give you money back ?

Yes, as long as you purchased as a Debit, they will give you cash back.

I am pretty sure it goes through like a credit, deposited back into your account...

Yes, as long as you purchased as a Debit, they will give you cash back.

Some stores do it...but some don't. I know for a fact that Old Navy/Gap/BR, and Target do so.

depends on the store's 'system.' at target i usually have to get cash back while other stores i am credited when i use our hsbc card [with my old bank, i always got credited at target]. i think it CAN have a lot to do with whether or not you can get cash back sometimes as well when you swipe the card.
