Holly: I worked for American Express while I was in college. You would think I knew better then to have 2 amex cards I had 2 Amex, mastercard and a visa.
I agree they should not make it so easy to get them with no income, especially in college. But thats how they get you. Get a credit card, buy now pay later, etc....and college kids having little or no income say oh thats great, get a CC and max it out. They dont realize how it will affect their future.
Credit cards should not be offered to college kids

OMG Holly I thought I was the only one. I cant tell you how many calls I get from Visa and Mastercard harrassing me. I hang up on them.
Amex finally stopped bothering me when they realized its been a long time since I paid them. So I guess if I havent paid them by now, I am not going to pay them any time soon. But on a happy note they did offer me a settlement which will clear the debt.
I just cant be bothered with them righ now.

Chippa------I hang up on them too!!! i HATE them.....but watch out for AMEX< tehy are JERKS and I paid them off, even got a -0- balance letter and then 5 months later get a letter from some kind of 4rd party company owed 750 on AMEX.....which i know i did not so I produced that letter and they took itoff..I think that was some kind of Scam...

Re: If you could do one thing in your life differently...
Holly: oh yes I know about Amex. I learned that they dont send it to collection. It goes to a lawyer, he tries to collect the debt. If he is unsuccessful, he sends it to a 3rd or 4th party lawyer who will try to offer a settlement.
Its such a pain. They are so annoying. They called me constantly and at all crazy times. I just hang up on them.
Re: If you could do one thing in your life differently...
shamma...i think about that too...If I had been a little more serious...where I could have gotten...and if I had done more so in college..
but I'm not upset about it...I met great people doing it and always had a lot of fun!!
I wonder about styudying more to...I did minimal and still got great grades...what could I have done or where would I be if I had been really devoted...
then I think...I may never have met DH...and that would have been sad

I would have booked a flight to florida (back in october) one week earlier to visit my grandfather. He passed away the day before I got down there

Re: If you could do one thing in your life differently...
since i am out of work, i have had alot of time to think about my decisions. well, i came to the conclusion that everything that happend made me come to this point in my life. Married, happily and a long furture with someone who cares about me. we had a big fight tonight (first one ever in 6.5 yrs) at the end we both understood we are upset about other things other then what we were arguing over. we kissed and hugged. so now that we are ok, now its time to take care of getting a job. so if i did something different maybe I would not have found my dh, and that would **** more hten anything!

I would've gone to medical school instead of law school!
In my final year of lawschool, I gave some VERY VERY serious thought to going to medical school after graduation. Fi was all for it! But, in the end, I'm tired of school! Undergrad., then Masters, then Law school.
I needed a break from schooL!

Kathy: I feel the same way sometimes. Sometimes I wish I would have become a dentist, pediatrician or vet. But there's NO WAY I can do anymore school. At least not right now. I'm all schooled out

God, I did that last summer! Just stick to the program and you'll pass.
When I walked out of that exam, I was certain that I didn't pass...I realized I answered 2 of the essays totally wrong (I gave the wrong definition for arson, calling it a malice crime or some other crime,,,I can't even remember any of that crap now)...but anyways...I passed.
That was one of the happiest days of my life.
What prep. course are you taking?

Re: If you could do one thing in your life differently...
Since I was a child, I always said that I wanted to go into medicine! I swore by it...I love bio, chem...math...I was good in those areas.
I just fell into law...I can't explain it! Bizarre, I would've never imagined myself in this area.
At least I deal with medical areas involved in the law.

Re: If you could do one thing in your life differently...
Kathy: I'm taking BAR/BRI. You just did what they told you? What extras did you do, if any?
Deby: I agree. I'm very lucky to have gotten a job. One of the MAIN reasons that I went into law is b/c I was SURE that I would have NO problem getting a job out of law school. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Forensic Psychology and chose to go into law school vs. going for my masters and Phd in Forensic Psych b/c I liked both equally and thought for sure that I would have a better chance getting a job as an attorney than getting a job as a forensic psychologist. I was SOOO MISTAKEN!

I would have treated my moms fiance a little nicer in the beginning and I would have told him how I really felt about him...I thought of him as a father but I always thought that if i told him that it was in some way betraying my own dad
I also would have had a dance with him at the wedding..something i think he wanted more than anything in this world..and now i cant turn back the hands of time...
If you ladies can make different decisions which fix your regrets, please do so...because my regrets are ones that I cant change...and I would do anything in this world to do so.
