OMG!! I always say there needs to be one of these!!! Everyone wants a bagel after a drunken night out but no one wants to go in the bagel store looking the way they do...

I am not 100% positive but it will definitely be craft based.

I’d open a bookstore for all but centered on Sci-Fi & Fantasy. I’d make it really cool for kids as well as adults. I’d have sections for kids to play out imaginations and learn new stuff. It’d be multi-level with all sorts of activities for all ages and a separate area for adults. There’d be supervision by licensed children caretakers and a café for time away. There’d be quiet space for people who want silence. LARGE no-cell areas where cellphone use would be blocked (even if it means extra installation of wall) I hate when I walk around in a books store and someone’s very loud phone goes off and that person choose to ignore the call. It would be non-smoking but there’d be a warmed/cooled area available for smokers to take a break. There would be theme-type events through the year and big parties for book releases. ALL employees would be required to have their ‘specialty’ listed on their tags. They would also be required to actually LIKE to read as well as show interest in SHARING the joy of reading. I also hate when I go to a book store and see a teenage punk looking for an extra book give *ME* strange looks for asking for classic sci-fi, romance, history and horror all at once. The place would have a credit card with actual redeemable points. Meaning if you spend $X yearly in our store you got back gift certificates for our store, probably sometime in November but we’d like you choose the date when you signed up.

hehe, I know it sounds planned out, but it’s always been my dream.
If i could Quit and had MILLIONS of DOLLARS hehe

I always thought I'd open a bookstore...where cats lounged in sun spots and people sipped tea while reading in the garden (my bookstore would be like an atrium of sorts)...jazz and classical musicians would perform at night, under the stars.

I would also do a ton of non-profit work.

Actually, I want to be a literary agent, but that is realistic and should happen in the next 5-10 years.

I came to this idea when I was studying book publishing at Hofstra and I realized that there are many talented authors and illustrators out there who simply need the proper representation to get their books published. I have been looking for assistant and associate positions at agencies but there aren't many there. In the meantime, I work for a children's publisher and I am gaining experience and making contacts in the industry.
