umm mine got destroyed when i did hand cancel them......lol
honestly i think it depends on the volume that the specific branch handles that day i sent a sample from the grand central station ..hand cancelled....rcvd it 1 week later destroyed
sent it again froma small branch by my house and got it the nxt day!
I think its like when they stamp it with the circle thing like when u go and need soemthing post marked that day instead of putting through a machine...

Re: If you don't hand cancel your invitations?
i think it depends on what type of invitation you have, since a lot of girls on here get them custom made with ribbons and rhinestones, those can get stuck in the machine, so hand canceling them should or hopefully avoid that problem.

If I just have flat regular ones u think i'd be alright just sending them out...

Re: If you don't hand cancel your invitations?
I asked for mine to be hand cancelled, the post office said they would do it and they didn't. Luckily nothing happened to my invites, they were fine, there was just a black line across the top of the envelope, but the actual invite wasn't damaged at all

Re: If you don't hand cancel your invitations?
I hand cancelled most of mine, but the stragglers that went out after the big mailing, and the B list were just stuck in my box. My invitations were square and flat and as far as I know they were all received just fine. BUT if you have any embellishments on your invites whatsoever, just ask for them to hand cancel them because that machine will break everything. I have read that the Farmingdale post office will let you stamp your own invites and cancel them right there and they you'll have peace of mind.
