I just had my makeup trial. I'm sure it looks nice (my fi likes it and he hates makeup!), but I'm just really uncomfortable looking in the mirror and seeing that makeup looking back at me! Did anyone else feel the same way? I don't want to be self-conscious on my wedding day, but I know I need makeup. Maybe I'll start wearing a little every day and when the big day comes I'll be used to the look.

Re: If you don't usually wear makeup
I have to tell you, I totally agree with you. I went and had a trial, I hated the way it felt. It looked really nice, I just felt like I was wearing a mask. I decided to go to Clinique and get a makeover and do it myself. What I am doing now is periodically wearing the makeup as the salesgirl showed me. Not every day, just like once a week or so. It is much nicer and I don't feel so strange. I went to the Clinique in Macy's Walt Whitman, someone on here posted a thread about a bridal thing they were doing. I think they are doing another one August 28th or 29th.

I am a makeup fiend......I love it. However I do understand how you girls feel as I did my girlfriends makeup for her wedding and she wears NOTHING so it was difficult finding something she was comfortable with.
I like gertyrae's suggestion - start wearing it every so often to get used to it. Be sure to tell your makeup artist if it feels too thick and they will adjust what they applied.
Corinne - who did your makeup? It looks absolutely beautiful!!!

corrinne, you look great! I was looking at it before on the thread you posted. I showed it my fi and asked him if my makeup looked as nice! I think I'll just wear a little every day.

Re: If you don't usually wear makeup
thanks jacqueline nicole did air brushing on me which i thought was going to be heavy but it is light its been over 8 hours and it still looks great. what i liked about my trial is she did my makeup light and then asked what i wanted changed so i told her alittle more on the eyes because in your photos it wont show up as much because the white from the dress will was you out.

Re: If you don't usually wear makeup
I usually wear a little make up but not a lot. I hated both makeup trials I went to, even though I'm sure they looked nice. I did my own makeup, although I did go to the MAC store and get suggestions. I mostly just got slightly brighter versions of what I normally wear.
My main thing was everyone kept trying to put a lot of eye makeup on me, even the MAC guy, and warm colors. I have pink cheeks! Orange looks silly. And, I like to play up my mouth, not my eyes.
I was much happier doing it myself, and everyone thought it looked good.
