If you had to choose one of these halls

Original post by SoontobeMrsH

FH & I are having a hard time making up our minds, we have to limit it to 4 by thanksgiving so that we can make appointments to view w/ his parents between then & the new year...

I like something different about each place and I can't pick my 2, FH alreay has his two picked

I voted for the Metropolitan!! It's different & the food is amazing!! We would've booked there, but for the # we're inviting it might be too crowded (I think they'd only comfortably fit 160 or so).

Me too - I really loved it. We needed to have our ceremony at our RH though, and wanted grounds to take advantage of for this and taking pics,(2 stop shopping)and unfortunately the Metropolitan doesn't really have grounds. I loved the balcony there for the CH, and thought it was so different.!

we want 100 but it'll prolly be closer to 130.....

All of these venus are in the same price range

Well the minimums for some of those places are higher than that... that's why I asked. The Metropolitan, for example, has a 140 min on Saturdays and a 120 minimum on other days...

Nope the MEt Club has a min of 65 max is 120

Ah, you're talking about the Metropolitan Club, not the Metropolitan... Same owners, but different entrance / room! Sorry, I was confused!

I am pretty sure she is talking about the Metropolitan Club -- different from the Metropolitan. Same owners / food / etc., but it has a different room and a different entrance. We were thinking of having our RD there... but we're seriously considering the Metropolitan for our wedding!

I am biased for the GWM since this is where I got married. As long as you don't have more than 140 ppl. you should be fine there. Otherwise, it will feel 'crowded'. The big room is for 150 max (without a dance floor!).

I loved the place, the garden. We used their chapel also. It was different than other places.

Service and food was excellent.

If we would've booked there, we were not going to have our ceremony at the RH....so the big room they use for the ceremony would have been for my cocktail hour.....the whole place is gorgeous though! The bridal suite was so amazing....I loved all of the decor and especially the balconies. I like that they get you a permit to go to a nearby park too. I was in love with it....but the second FH walked in, he said it was too small, and wouldn't even think twice about it!! All my hopes & dreams shot down!!! But, in hindsight he was probably right, and our guest list might grow by next year so its better that we didn't book there.

I voted CLM. Of course I am biased b/c thats where we're getting married
The price is awesome for the amount that you get, we did a food tasting in January and LOVED it -- the food is amazing, the service is impeckable (sp?), and you get the yatch arrival! We felt that we were getting the most for our money with CLM.
I would suggest that you do a comparison of all the places you love. We literally did a 'Pros and Cons' list for all the ones we saw to help us decide. We wrote down everything from decor, parking, food, service, price, travel distance, bridal suite, etc. It helped us rule a few out and then we went with our heart after that....we loved CLM and kept going back to it everytime we talked about halls. Eventually we just knew thats where we had to have it

All of those places are so different, I don't even feel comfortable telling you which to choose. One is on the water, another is very ornate, another more New England style.

Also CLM does a free food tasting on Wednesdays.. I wouldnt even call it a tasting. They give you SOOOOOOOOO much food!! Salads, pastas, a full serving size of about 6 different dishes AND they allow you to bring about 6 guests!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm not really sure what I want, we're hpoing to book b4 the new year...

FH's TOP 2:

CLM
Met Club

& I keep thinking What if it rains & that's why we chose clm ( the yacht arrival & outdoor ceremony) LOVE NYbride's ceremony pics... Your flowers inspired my chuppla decor, that I have set in my mind... I know all the lil details & can't make up my mind about the BIG one ....

I don't love the entrance to the MET Club or that the ceremony is on the stage ....

Re: If you had to choose one of these halls

I voted for the Metropolitan. I was a BM there in my friends BP in 2004 and loved it. It reminded me of an NYC venue, very unique from most halls on LI.

Each place you chose was very different (except the GWM and Milleridge). What is most important to you? What kind of a setting do you really want? Waterscape, garden, cosmopolitan?
