UPDATE:

I am glad a lot of you mentioned that you would skimp on CPs. At first I fell in love with CPs like pic #1 but then after thinking about the cost associated with it, I would rather put the $2k+ towards something else like my honeymoon where it will go a lot further. I found these hurricane candle holders at Target and I bought one to get my FHs and my moms opinion and I feel like people are saying just want I want to hear. How do you feel about the candle holder sitting on a tray of some sort that is filled with sand and has starfish, seashells and tea lights all around it in the sand? PLEASE be honest, we are really not skimping with anything so I dont want these to look 'cheap', but I realized that we should try to save some money here and there.

I like it!!!! I am NOT doing flowers for centerpieces, I am doing tea light candles and rose petals. Very simple. I plan to have diff color linens, dusty rose on top of A light pink. SO I dont want to go overboard, plus 2k on FLOWERS pLEASE!!! I have been looking at my nieghbors beautiful flowers for days now...I was thinking of stealing hers lol and putting them in a vase. JOKING lol Although It wouldnt be a bad idea to grow your own and put them in a vase.

flowers, centerpieces...we're using pillar candles and rose petals...
invitations...people read them and eventually get rid of them
calligraphy...nice touch, but I can save that money...people are just going to throw the envelopes away

I would skimp on flowers, invitations and STD's if I HAD to. I would say that you should discuss with FH if he's OK with candle holders.

I reread this post and something came to mind. I don't think ANY of us would ever have to skimp, as long as we are stylish girls.
Same with fashion..only the really fashion-less, clueless and tasteless people buy everything designer since that label makes them feel as if they are well-groomed.
Contrary to this, you can buy stuff from Thrift stores and look 100x's better than any of these people. Accessories and confidence go a long way.
So, with wedding stuff...those who feel that 'the best' is the most expensive because they don't know what coordination is, then they deserve to pay top dollar and waste tons of money for nothing. Right???
